"Sultana Siddiqui Road" Inaugurated in North Nazimabad, Karachi

 Karachi - A significant road in North Nazimabad, District Central, Karachi, has been officially named "Sultana Siddiqui Road" in a ceremony graced by the President of HUM Network, Mrs. Sultana Siddiqui herself. This honor recognizes her remarkable services to the media industry and her tireless efforts towards women's empowerment in Pakistan.

The inauguration ceremony, held in North Nazimabad, was attended by Deputy Commissioner of District Central Taha Saleem, Chairman of the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) North Nazimabad Atif Ali, CEO of HUM Network Duraid Qureshi, Shunaid Qureshi, along with a large number of esteemed citizens, government officials, media representatives, and residents.


The proceedings were skillfully moderated by Abeel Khan, who highlighted Karachi's pivotal role in Pakistan's progress and reminisced about the city's golden era of development in the 1970s and 80s. She lauded the well-planned infrastructure of North Nazimabad, particularly its parks and wide roads, attributing it to the contributions of educated individuals. She also expressed gratitude to the Sindh government for acknowledging Mrs. Sultana Siddiqui's contributions.

Speaking at the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Taha Saleem stated that Sultana Siddiqui is not only a distinguished figure in the media industry but also a shining example of women's leadership in Pakistan. He added that naming a road after her is a matter of pride for everyone. Reflecting on the city's development, he expressed a desire to restore the past glory of Karachi and acknowledged the importance of recognizing individuals from various walks of life.

Chairman TMC North Nazimabad Atif Ali remarked that this initiative is not just about inaugurating a road but also about acknowledging the struggle and achievements of a woman who has set new standards in the world of media. He expressed his immediate interest in implementing the proposal, emphasizing that the road symbolizes the promotion of women's leadership in Pakistan.

CEO of HUM Network Duraid Qureshi, at the conclusion of the ceremony, thanked the Sindh government, the district administration, and all the distinguished guests. He expressed his personal joy in seeing a road in the area where he grew up named after his mother. He reiterated HUM Network's mission of serving society, highlighting their efforts in modernizing 10 schools in the town, with plans to upgrade another 15 by the end of the year.

It is noteworthy that Sultana Siddiqui is the first woman in Pakistan to establish and successfully run a complete media network. She founded "HUM Network" in 2004, which has grown into a robust organization comprising "HUM TV," "HUM News," and other prominent channels. In recognition of her services, she has been honored with prestigious national awards such as the "Sitara-i-Imtiaz" and the "Pride of Performance" by the Government of Pakistan. These accolades not only represent her personal achievements but also serve as an inspiration to women across Pakistan, conveying the message that with determination, any dream can be realized.

The ceremony concluded with a high tea and networking among the attendees.

IGP separates Orangi Town from North Nazimabad

Orangi and North Nazimabad Towns have been separated on the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Sallahuddin Babar Khattak on Saturday. It is important to mention that before the tenure of former IGP Sindh Major (retd) Ziaul Hassan, the Karachi police was divided according to the 18 towns, however when Hassan was appointed, he abolished the police force of four towns, merging them with the other 15. Hassan merged Orangi Town with North Nazimabad Town, Korangi Town with Landhi Town, Baldia and SITE Towns with North Nazimabad Town and also appointed SP to SSP ranks officers in all the towns in the city. Almost a month ago, Khattak separated Korangi Town from Landhi Town and then separate SPs were appointed there. He also separated Orangi Town from North Nazimabad Town on Saturday. Khattak has also appointed West Zone SSP Investigation Fayyaz Qureshi as an SP in Orangi Town and posted SP Khawaja Naveed to Gulberg Town.

New measures to improve the sanitation system in North Nazimabad

Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner and Administrator Central District Mr. Taha Saleem, new measures are being taken to improve the sanitation system at commercial and residential centers. Deputy Commissioner and Administrator Taha Saleem along with Municipal Commissioner Zahid Hussain distributed large plastic bags for disposal of garbage among shopkeepers and other businessmen in the business centers of North Nazimabad Landi Kotal Chowrangi to Zia-ud-Din Chowrangi.
